Archers Jersey Ice Cream

John and Susan Archer and their three children started Archers Jersey Ice Cream and milking Jersey cows New Moor Farm, Walworth Gate back in 2002 after losing the original herd of Holstein Friesians to Foot and Mouth.

The herd graze a lush clover rich pasture on the south facing slopes of the Tees Valley and feed on conserved forage made on the farm during the winter, made from red clover, rye grass, winter wheat and maize. All the Jersey herd are managed in a welfare conscious system and monitored by Freedom Food and by the National Dairy Farm Assured Scheme.

This all leads to a welfare friendly wholesome, nutritious product which then delivered to the various franchises around the region to be made into fresh ice-cream.
